Redistribution of Wealth

My husband says I’ve gone socialist. I wouldn’t take it that far. But there are some socialist ideas- meaning the sharing of resources, be it time, energy, or possessions- that need incorporation into our world.

Motherhood is one of the obvious ones.

Mothers need a deluxe support staff. But the problem is when everyone competes to get ahead and yet also suffers from mass-loneliness. I propose in this piece a redistribution of energy and time. If we create a cultural norm of taking time out of our lives to support young mothers, we ourselves will feel more embedded within a nurturing community! We will be then so much healthier and humane as a society.
